How to send bigger

  1. A TransferThing link

Drop the file or the folder, share the link. Up to 5 GB, without an account for you or the recipient.

  2. Cloud storage

Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox if you already use them: the file takes your storage, and you manage who can open it.

  3. Hand to hand

A USB stick, or AirDrop and Quick Share when you sit side by side.

A free account to follow your transfers.

Frequently asked questions

What is the simplest way to send a large file?

A link: drop the file, share the address. On TransferThing, up to 5 GB without an account, for you or the recipient.

Should I zip a large file before sending it?

Rarely worth it: videos, photos and PDFs are already compressed and a .zip barely shrinks them. It mostly groups a folder, and TransferThing sends folders as they are.

What is the difference between a transfer link and cloud storage?

A transfer link erases itself after a few days; cloud storage keeps the file until you delete it, and takes your space.

Is sending a file by link safe?

The link is private: only whoever has it can open the page. For a sensitive document, add a password and deletion once downloaded.

Can I send a whole folder?

Yes: on TransferThing, drop the folder as it is, up to 200 files; the recipient gets it with its subfolders.
