Personal use
Your family videos, untouched.
The file leaves as it is. Your family downloads it in the browser. Nobody signs up for anything.
What you send is what they get.
Messaging apps often shrink a video. Here, nothing is resized or re-encoded: same weight, same sharpness.
The link goes by text, or shows up at the table.
Copy the link, or share it from your phone into the family chat. At dinner, show it as a QR code: everyone scans it.
Grandma opens it on her phone.
She taps the link, then the file. No app, no account, any browser. The page does not say who sent it: sign your message.
And the holiday photos?
Back home
The whole folder, one link.
Photos and videos together, as they came off the phone.
On the train
Signal drops?
The upload picks up where it stopped, even after closing the tab.
That evening
Everyone takes what they want.
On a phone, everything as a .zip up to 500 MB. Beyond that, file by file.

What TransferThing does not do
No online album
Your family gets files, not a gallery.
Not every video plays in the page
An iPhone .mov plays once downloaded.
No backup
When the link ends, the files are erased. Keep your originals.
A free account to follow your transfers.
See what was downloaded, and find your links again.

How long can they download?
Up to 3 days without an account. With Pro, as long as your plan is active.
