How to send bigger

  1. A TransferThing link

Drop the file here, resend the message with the link instead of the attachment. Up to 5 GB, without an account for you or the recipient.

  2. A OneDrive link

From Outlook, share the file from OneDrive, up to 2 GB. It uses your OneDrive storage.

  3. Ask the recipient

Only their administrator can raise the limit for their mailbox, up to 150 MB on Microsoft 365.

Frequently asked questions

What does 5.2.3 RecipSizeLimit mean?

The message is too large for this recipient, according to Microsoft: the size limit set for them is lower than your message.

My other messages go through: why not this one?

The limit can be set per recipient: the same message can reach one person and be refused for another. Microsoft 365 receives 36 MB by default, attachments included.

Can I fix it from my side?

Not the limit: it belongs to the recipient’s administrator. Send the message again without the attachment.

How do I send the file anyway?

Drop it on TransferThing and resend the message with the link: up to 5 GB, without an account.

Does the recipient need an account?

Not for a TransferThing link: they download in their browser, without an account.
